Mrs. W.D. (Eliza) Schrock Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. W. D. Schrock, 76, who died at 3:15 p. m. Thursday at her home, 218 Hammond avenue, will be conducted Saturday afternoon, with a prayer service for the family at Petersen Bros. funeral home at 2:30, followed by services at 3 o’clock at First Brethren church. Mrs. Schrock had been ill three weeks following a stroke.
Rev. W. F. Bell, Milledgeville, Ill., will officiate at services in the absence of Rev. W. C. Benshoff, the pastors having exchanged pulpits this week. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
Mrs. Schrock was the widow of Wesley Daniel Schorck, Waterloo cabinetmaker, who died May 23, 1925.
Born Eliza B. Saylor, on February 14, 1862, in Orange township, Black Hawk county, Iowa, she was a daughter of Joseph and Mary Bickley Saylor. On Jan. 12, 1885, she was married to Mr. Schrock. They lived on a farm south of Waterloo for six years, moving to Waterloo in 1891.
Surviving are a daughter, Hazel, at home, and the following nephews and nieces: Merwin Saylor, Nogales, Ariz.; Mrs. Gladys Denning, Long Beach, Cal., Harold M. Saylor, 325 Western avenue, Dr. Emory M. Saylor, 107 Hillcrest apartments, and Mrs. Elford Hamer, 111 Bertch avenue.
Mrs. Schrock was a member of First Brethren church.
