James Merland Apfel, 58, of Muncie, Ind., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday night in Muncie of a heart attack.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Muncie.

He was born in Waterloo on Feb. 6, 1916, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern H. Apfel.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary, and a daughter, Mrs. Debra Miller, both of Muncie; his mother, Mrs. Vern H. Apfel, and a sister, Mrs. Don Lancelot, both of 1347 South Hill Dr.
