CEDAR FALLS - Tom Holm, 59, of Dike, formerly of Cedar Falls died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, after becoming ill at his river home earlier that morning.

He was born August 31, 1948 in Cedar Falls, the son of Sterling R. and Margaret M. Backerman Holm. He married Joanna "Jody" Hostetler on January 25, 1968 in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Holm was employed as plant manager with North East Machine Company in Janesville.

Survivors include his wife, Jody of Dike; a son, Tim Holm of Palmer, Alaska; a daughter, Erin (Kirk) Stafford of Port Orchard, Washington; four grandchildren, Max and Jake Holm and Logan and Teagan Stafford; his mother, Margaret Holm of Cedar Falls; and a brother, George (Carole) Holm of Toronto Ontario, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Family will receive friends, informally, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home (266-3525), for a time to share memories, pictures and favorite stories about Tom.
