Monte Beck was born on February 28, 1967, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Neil and Betty (Jones) Beck. He graduated from Dike High School in 1985.

On June 13, 1987, he was united in marriage to Caleen Meyer; they later divorced.

Monte is survived by three daughters: Ashley Beck, currently serving at Ft. Meade in Maryland; Brittany Beck of Waverly; Chierstie Beck of New Hartford; his parents, Neil and Betty of Dike; a brother, Robert (Erika) Beck, of Powder Spring, GA; sisters, Linda Beck of Dike, and Christine (Robin) Sturgeon of Danbury, IA.

Monte died on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Queen of Angels Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles, CA.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, William and Doris Jones; paternal grandparents, Nels and Gladys Beck; an uncle, Robert Daniel Jones.
