Victor E. Kemming, 83, of the Western Home Communities-Martin Center, died Friday, October 28, 2005, at the Western Home.

He was born January 12, 1922, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Chris and Augusta (Ackelbein) Kemming. He served his Country in the United States Army during World War II. On February 8, 1942, he was united in marriage to Arlene M. Briner in Waverly. He was employed as an interior decorator at Davidsons in Waterloo, then Smulekoffs in Cedar Rapids, and finally at JCPenny's in Waterloo.

Victor is survived by his wife, Arlene of Cedar Falls; sons, Dennis (Pam) Kemming of Waverly, and Ken (Judy) Kemming of Harper's Ferry; daughters, Karen (Larry) Pritchard of Cedar Falls, Nancy (Ray) Whitney of Horicon, WI, and Deb (Jon) Hagge of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church (West 7th and Allen St.) in Waterloo, with interment in the Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thurday, November 3 at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Memorial contributions will be designated at a later date.
