Daniel S. Rozier was born December 2, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Lucien Peeples and Dorothy Jean (York) Rozier. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1966 and attended Hawkeye Tech for one year studying Tool & Die. On July 8, 1967, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Johnson at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls.

He worked for various machine shops in the area finishing as a tool room machinist at Doerfer Engineering, retiring in 2001. He was a former Chief Ranger of the Independent Order of Foresters, an active volunteer with the Conestoga Council of Girl Scouts, received the mayor's volunteer service award in 1982, and volunteered with the Waterloo Warriors Hockey team.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Barbara of Waterloo; daughter, Michel S. (John) Sheehan and their daughters, Darby and Avery of Cedar Falls; son, Steven T. Rozier of Sacramento, CA; brother, David "Mike" Rozier of Charleston, SC; and sister, Cynthia (Roger) Spriggs of Goose Creek, SC.

Daniel died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Rozier.
