Funeral services for Wallace L. Dietz, 49, of 2318 W. 7th St., will be held at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home., The Rev. George Karnik, assistant pastor of St. Edward's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Dietz died unexpectedly at 2 p.m. Monday at his home of a heart attack.

He was born Sept. 22, 1909, in Waterloo, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dietz. In 1934 he married Bernice Kemp in Chicago.

A supervisor for the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for the past 22 years, he was a member of the John Deere Supervisors' Club, and had been active in Boy Scout work, both as a scout master and as a commissioner.

Survivors are the wife, two sons, Wallace L. Jr., and Dennis, both of the home address; two daughters, Karen, also at home, and Mrs. James Market, 402 Ricker St.; three sisters: Mrs. Pleze Miller, 2512 Cedar Heights Drive, Mrs. Robert Glaspie, 419 W. Park Ave., and Mrs. Robert Funk, 1170 Mitchell Ave.; four brothers: Donovan Dietz, 131 Bertch Ave., Murle Dietz, Rt. 1, Vernon Dietz, Rt. 4, and Everett, 901 Baltimore St. Two grandchildren also survive.
