Michel Bass, 56, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, from Lou Gehrigs disease.

He was born July 31, 1949, in Waterloo, son of Clifford and Elaine Ohde Bass. He married T. Jean Meester on Oct. 18, 1975, at the Reformed Church of Stout, Stout.

Mr. Bass graduated from Columbus High School, Waterloo, in 1967, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He graduated from Schoitz Radiology School, Waterloo, in 1974 and worked as an X-ray technician in 1974 at Schoitz Memorial Hospital. He continued his education in nuclear medicine, cat scans, ultrasounds and MRIs and worked in all those areas at Schoitz Memorial Hospital and Covenant Medical Center, both in Waterloo.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Peter of Des Moines; a daughter, Jessica Bass of Parkersburg; three brothers, David (Ginny) and Jeffery (Karen), both of Waterloo, and Anthony (Candie) of Raymond; and two sisters, Linda Lowe of Stockton, Calif., and Barbara (Patrick) Reed of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
