Funeral services will be at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow at the First United Methodist Church for Roy R. Bryant, 70, of 1930 Independence Ave., who died at 7:25 p. m. Friday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of cancer. Friends may call at Kearns- Dykeman Chapel from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 11 a. m. Monday after which the body will be taken to the church. Viewing will be conducted prior to the service at the church. Friends who wish may contribute to the memorial fund of the diurch in his name.

Martin Lodge 624, A. F. & A. M. will conduct a public Masonic service at Kearns- Dykeman at 7 p.. m. Sunday. Dr. Ralph D. Kitterman, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate at the funeral services and burial will be in Midwest Garden of Memories.

He was born in Davis County on Aug 31, 1898 the son of Alva and Eva Bain Bryant. He had resided in Waterloo since 1917. He married Ethel Parker on March 1, 1919, in Ottumwa and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversay last Saturday.

For 25 years he owned a store at 1441 Hawthorne Ave., until selling the store in 1959. Since that time he had been employed in the dietary department of Schoitz Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Homemakers Sunday School class and had served as an usher and on the official board of the church. He also was a member of Martin Lodge, and Waterloo Chapter 128 of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Mether of La Porte City, and Mrs. Venice Mether of 1274 Deloris Dr., one brother, Jack of 1637 Bertch St., and one sister Miss Ruth Bryant of 1016 W. 11th St., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
