Death of An Old Settler in
This City and a Sudden Death
at Cedar Falls

MRS. MARIA HILBORN.

Mrs. Maria Hilborn, mother of Mrs. John Sine, Mrs. A. Picken, Mrs. Lew Probert, Mrs. Mose Rose, and Mrs. Colton, of this city, and Mrs. E. S. Butterfield, now of Kossuth county, died at the residence of John Sine, No. 924 Washington street, at 9:45 last evening, of old age.

Mrs. Hilborn had made her home with Mrs. Butterfield until the latter moved to Kossuth county about March 1st, when she took up her residence with Mr. Sine.

Deceased was born in Green Co., PA., in 1813, and was there married to A. (Abel) Hilborn. In 1840 they moved to Wisconsin and came to Iowa in 1863, settling on a farm in Waterloo township. Her husband died some time ago. She leaves besides the daughters enumerated above, a son in Waverly, Jacob Hilborn. Mrs. Hilborn was a highly respected lady and was well known among our old settlers.

The funeral services will be held from the residence, No. 924 Washington street, at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Rev. P. Hallowell officiating. Interment in Elmwood.
