JESUP - Gary Alan Roedema, 36, of Jesup, formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1991, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of cancer.

He was born June 4, 1955, in Racine, Wis., son of Richard and Florence Melnik Roedema. He married Marisue Rachelle Becker on Sept. 13, 1980, in Jesup. Mr. Roedema was a 1973 graduate of Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School and served with the U.S. Navy from 1973-77. He was employed by the city of Waterloo as construction coordinator for the parks department.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Nathan at home; a daughter, Ashley at home; a brother, Craig of Hiawatha; and two sisters, Amy Taylor of Hudson and Lisa Roedema of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1983; his mother in 1962; and his stepmother, Rosemary in 1986.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Raymond, with military rites by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville. Friends may call today and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at White Funeral Home, where there will be Scripture services at 3:30 and 8 p.m. today.
