William E. Collins, 85, of Country View Care Center, died Thursday Oct. 6, 1994 of natural causes at the care center

He was born Dec. 1, 1908 in Mound City, Ill, son of Charles A. and Anna L. Michael Collins. He married May Elizabeth Stanfield in 1935 in Waterloo; she died Aug. 28, 1980.

Mr. Collins worked as an experimental technician at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1972.

Survived by three sons: Philip S. of Cedar Falls, Eugene E. of Buffalo N Y., Stephen C. of Brunswick, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lafayette and Gene; and three sisters: Helen Plautz, Anne Boeding and Loretta Kriz.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m
