Funeral services for Edward James Weiland, 56, 807 Mullan Ave., who died Sunday morning at Woodlawn Convalescent Home of a cerebral thrombosis, will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church.

He was born June 17, 1902, to Leonard and Leonard and Anna Weiland in Gilbertville. He married Mathilda Huch Jan. 9, 1924, at Fort Pierre. S. D.

After his marriage he came to Waterloo and was an employe of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 35 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Eugene, 2231 W. 8th St.; two brothers, Joseph, 1315 Jefferson St., and Laurence, Lodi, Calif.; six sisters: Mrs. Joseph McGlade, 815 W. 1st St.; Mrs. Fred Klein, Rt. 1, Waterloo; Mrs. Leonard Lewis, Vinton; Mrs. Rose Sawyer, Gilbertville; Mrs. Edward Conrad, Davenport; Mrs. Ray Gardner, Evansdale; one half-brother, John Weiland of Piedmont, S. D.; three half-sisters: Mrs. Barbara Kurtenbach, Gilbertville; Mrs. Fran Burger, 1818 Mulberry St.; Mrs. Mary Stubenrauch, Jesup, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one half-brother.

Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday. The Sacred Heart parish rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oppold Funeral Home. Msgr. E. J. O'Ragan will officiate at the services Wednesday morning.
