CEDAR FALLS-May M. Fleming, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Monday Dec. 18, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born May 12, 1906, in Butler County, daughter of Frank and Matilda Baumgartner Wendt. She married Walter A. Fleming on June 22, 1940, in Independence. He died in 1959.

Mrs. Fleming was a graduate of Allen School of Nursing in 1929. She was a nurse for 50 years at Allen Memorial Hospital and also taught on the nursing staff at the school before retiring.

Survived by: a daughter, Alberta DeBerg of Cedar Falls; and several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Forest, Jacob and Victor Wendt; and two stepsons, Lyle T. and Othal A. Fleming.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
