Word has been received of the death of Thomas A. Hild, Sr., 69, of 135 Bertch Ave. He died Sunday at Wichita, Kan.

The son of John and Jane Hild, he was born June 19, 1884, at Traer. On Jan 5, 1904, he married Ethel Ross at Toledo.

He recently retired as an employee of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works.

Surviving are his wife, three sons: Dale of La Porte City; Stanley of Denver, and Thomas, Jr., of 218 Cornwall St.; also three daughters: Mrs. John Draper of Traer; Mrs. Clyde Reece, 100 Eason Ave., and Mrs. Raymond Nibaur, 3250 Waterloo Rd. Other survivors include a brother, R. H. Hild of Traer; three sisters Mrs. Beryl Clark of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. L. W. Clough and Mrs. Sam Swartz, both of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral arrangements are indefinite.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the States Funeral Home, Traer, for Thomas A. HIld, Sr., 69, of 135 Bertch Ave., who died Sunday at Wichita, Kan. Burial will be in Crystal Cemetery southwest of Traer.
