WATERLOO - John Charles Rochholz, 50, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at Allen Hospital.

He was born Dec. 4, 1958, in Waterloo, son of Raymond L. and Evelyn L. Gates Rochholz. He married Kandi R. Kitchen on April 25, 1982, in Waterloo.

Mr. Rochholz served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1978 to 1982. He had worked for Hawkeye Community College since 1992 as an HVACR/boiler technician. He also was acting president of Local UE 855. He was presently attending CDL class through Hawkeye Community College.

Survived by his wife; four sons, Matthew, Mason,

MacKenzie and Marshall, all of Waterloo; two daughters, Katherine and Kimberly, both of Waterloo; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pamela and Mark Spaulding of Waterloo; two brothers, Michael (Kim) of Adair and Glen of Ottumwa; four sisters, Geraldine (Sam) Armstrong of Corning, Kimberly (Dave) Eastman of Martinsdale, Patricia (Jim) Smith of Glenwood and Rebecca of Lorimer; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; three infant sons, Marcus, Mitchell and Martin; and a niece, Hilary.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. rosary by the Legion of Mary.

Memorials may be made to the family.

John loved being outdoors with his wife and children, doing activities such as boating, camping, fishing, and he loved music.
