Jeremy Lee Thompson, 34, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, after being struck by a vehicle.

He was a much loved and admired husband, father, son, brother, uncle and construction tradesman.

He was born in Iowa City on April 14, 1975, to his parents, James and Susan Cochran Thompson of Waterloo.

He married Melissa Michele Berry on March 3, 2003.

He was employed by Hudson Construction Services, Inc., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 15 years; his two sons, Sebastin Evans Thompson (5) and Elijah Lee Thompson (3); a daughter, Alyssa Rae Thompson (16); paternal grandparents, Ruth and Leo Thompson; maternal grandparents-in-law, Milton and Vi Hartley; parents, Susan and James Thompson; mother and father-in-law, Mark and Michele Wilson; brother, Christopher James Thompson; brother-in-law, Michael Edward Berry Jr.; two nieces, Lora Michele Rose Berry and Haley Viola Rose Berry; and three nephews, Ian Lee Grant Thompson, Isaiah James Thompson, and Ashton Joseph Douglas Thompson, all of Waterloo.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Linden United Methodist Church. Upon Jeremy's wishes he will be cremated, after services.

Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and also for an hour before services at the church on Friday.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1109 Calhoun St., Evansdale, IA 50707.

Jeremy Thompson, 34, of Evansdale, died after being hit by a car at 1:30 a.m. about two miles south of New Hartford, according to the Grundy County Sheriff's Office. Thompson was walking along County Road T55.
