WATERLOO — Roberta Joyce Bishop, 75, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Malcom, daughter of Milton and Vergie Gerard Peters. She married Robert Bishop on Oct. 18, 1958, at Central Methodist Church, Iowa Falls.

Mrs. Bishop graduated from Oskaloosa High School and attended Evangel College, Springfield, Mo. She was a dental assistant in Oskaloosa and later in Waterloo. She was then a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God and Red Hat Society.

Survived by her husband; a son, Blaine (Tamara) of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Trever Bishop, Jessica and Sarah Barth and Clarence Jr. and Tina Bishop; and a sister, Alice (Clarence) Bishop of Stout.

Preceded in death by a son, Branden; and a brother, Lyle Peters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, followed by cremation, with inurnment at a later date at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
