Albert J. Lotts, 71, of Dike, died at home Thursday, July 4, 2013.

He was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Cedar Falls, son of Donal and Helen Ward Lotts. On Dec. 7, 1963, he married Joan Kay Cox in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Lotts graduated from Dike High School, then attended mechanics school in Kansas City. He served in the Army Reserves for several years and worked as a farmer, truck driver and mechanic. He was a member of Dike United Methodist Church.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Kamela Lynch of Prescott, Wis.; two sons, Jeremy (Christa) of Cedar Falls and Daniel of Dike; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Beverly Holmes.

Celebration of Life: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Dike United Methodist Church. He donated his body to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for scientific research. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Dike, is in charge of the arrangements.
