Services for Roy V. Freed, 95, of 600 Park lane, formerly of Dewar, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Bennington Lutheran Church, Bennington Township, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Sunday night at the Americana Healthcare Center.

Mr. Freed was born July 22, 1888, at Odon, Ind., son of Richard and Jane Herron Freed. He married Olga Weise Oct. 7, 1914, in Oelwein. She died in 1939. He married Frances Henson Oct 30, 1943, in Kansas City.

In 1933, he moved to Dewar where he owned and operated the Dewar Elevator and also farmed, He retired in 1962.

He was an honorary member of the Aljeh Memorial Hospital board of directors and past-director of the Iowa Grain and Feed Association.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Heiple of 1716 Zenora Drive, and Mrs. William
Shimp or Dewar; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Day Freed of Elnora, Ind.

Memorials may be made to the church. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 2 to 4p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home, The casket will be open one hour before services at the church.
