Services for Melvin F. Schuler, 46, of 612 Sherman Ave., will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. He died Tuesday morning at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born Dec. 15, 1935, at Waterloo, son of Mathias and Katherine Reuter Schuler. He married Judith Ann Pierce July 11, 1970, at Galena, Ill. He was employed at Deere & Co. as an inspector for 20 years and was a partner in Modern Masonry. He served in the Army,

Survivors include his wife a daughter, Gina Marie at home; three sisters: Mrs. Louella Stolka of Volga
and Mrs. Marion Fettkether and Mrs Alma Helle, both of Cedar Rapids; and five brothers: Rathael, Ernest and Louis, all of Oelwein, Leo of Independence and Eugene of Jesup.

There will be a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oppold Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the church.
