Maxine C. Scobee was born September 18, 1919, in Dunlap, Kansas, the daughter of John Sherman and Leora Eva (Parrish) Blanton.

She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1937. On September 18, 1937, she was united in marriage to Thomas R. Scobee in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He died September 14, 2002.

She was employed in the dietary department at the Western Home Communities, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Cedar Falls Chapter #78 of O.E.S, White Shrine of Jerusalem, and past mother advisor of Rainbow for Girls in Cedar Falls.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Jeanette C. (Jerry) Schroedermeier of Dunkerton; son, Richard C. (Carolyn) Scobee of New Hartford; grandchildren, Tara (Steve) Beebe, Jason (Jennifer) Scobee, Sara (Brett) Lehr, and Ryan (Sara) Scobee; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Trystan, Gage, Zoe, and Josiah; brother, Robert (Linda) Blanton of Branson, MO; and three sisters, Roberta Olson of Alavista, KS, Geneva (Henry) Bast of Cedar Falls, and Doris (Bradford) Chase of Council Grove, KS.

Maxine died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at her home in Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Junior, Bill, and Dick Blanton
