Marie Eliza Haes, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 24, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born February 14, 1923, in Wiota, Iowa, the daughter of Albert LauVern and Amelia Carolina Emma (Claussen) Peterman. She attended the Craig Institute of Technology for one year. On October 1, 1943, she was united in marriage to Frederick August "Bud" Haes in Cedar Falls. He died August 14, 1995. She was worked as a supervisor at Rath Packing Company during WWII and a homemaker while having involvement in the family business, Peterman & Haes Floor Covering.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Haes and Becky (Charles) Fairhurst, all of Riverside, CA, and Angie (John Jr.) Haes Shephard of Cedar Falls; sons, Jack (Julie) Haes and Thomas (Bonnie) Haes, all of Waterloo; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Preceding Marie in death were her parents; husband; and brother, Emory Peterman.
