Cedar Falls-Howard E. Kelly, 85, of Cedar Falls died Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

He was born September 20, 1922 in Menlo, Iowa, the son Robert C. and Maude (Reighard) Kelly. He graduated from Menlo High School in 1940 and later served in the United States Army during World War II. On December 16, 1945, he was united in marriage to Nola McLarnan in Cedar Falls. He was employed with Wagner Manufacturing and then was a salesman with Christie Door Company both in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; son, Steve (Dawn) of Cedar Falls; daughter, Cindy (John) Smith of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Monte (Meesha) Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO and Christy (A.J.) Manfull of New Hartford; brother, Harry "Bob" (Melba) Kelly of Cedar Falls; and sister, Delores Mooers of Altoona.

Preceded by three brothers: John James in infancy, Bill, and Lou Kelly; and sister Colleen Peverill.

Services 11:00 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with interment in the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Full military honors provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Memorial contributions may by directed to: Alzheimer Association or Cedar Valley Hospice.
