Darlene R. Sells, 73, died April 23, 2007, at her home.

She was born May 26, 1933 in Waterloo, daughter of Merrill L. and L. Marie DeJaeger Nelson.

She graduated from Orange High School in 1952. She married Kenneth C. Sells in Waterloo and they were later divorced. Darlene was employed as a waitress at the Jefferson House for many years.

Survivors include three sons: David Michael and Kim Sells all of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Brittney and Bryce Sells; five brothers: Donald (Lois) Nelson of Cedar Falls, Jerry (Lynn) Nelson of Waterloo, Paul (Leanne) Nelson of Waterloo, Dale (Mariann) Nelson of Parkersburg, and Ronald (Bonnie) Nelson of Waterloo; three sisters: Marilyn (Orval) Schuchhardt of Washburn, Barbara (Dale) Petersen of Waterloo, and Mary (Garry) Stoelting of Waterloo.

She was preceded by her parents and one son, Derwin Sells.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service South Street Chapel with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4pm-8pm on Thursday and for one hour preceding services on Friday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
