REKERS, BYVANK, WEST

Cedar Falls—Herman Rekers, 91, died at his home, 1709 Clay Street, shortly after 11 o'clock Sunday
night. Death was due to ailments incident to advanced age. He had been a resident of this community 66 years.

He was born in Bremer county, Oct. 24, 1857, the son of Herman and Minnie Rekers. He married Cecelia* Bybank**, Apr. 25, 1882, in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death in 1933.

They began their married life on a farm three miles south of Cedar Falls on what is now Highway 58, where they continued until 1912, when they retired from the farm and moved to Cedar Falls and located at 1709 Clay Street.

Rekers is survived by four sons and a daughter. They include: Irvin. Route 3, Waterloo; Walter,
Ft. Dodge: Arthur. 1122 Wellington, Waterloo, and Fred, residing on the farm three miles south of Cedar Falls. The daughter, Mrs. Sarah West, lives in Long Beach, Cal.

There are 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mr. Rekers was a member of the Methodist church here. The body is at the Jungkunz-Nelson Funeral Home.
