Derald Eugene Coburn, 70, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at home of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 1, 1936 in Emmettsburg, the son of Arthur Dick and Alice Kress Coburn. He married Adelia M. "Toots" Ott on May 14, 1982 in Waterloo. She died Feb. 4, 1986. Mr. Coburn was employed in the factory at John Deere for 30 years. He also served as a Sgt. in the Army National Guard Reserves.

Survived by two sisters, Betty (Howard) Finnestad of Cylinder, and Janice Hinrichs of Las Vegas. Many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister Lois Lavonne Wilson.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Memorials May be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
