Funeral services for Michael Ray Owen, 29; of 1826 Mitchell Ave., whose body was found
about 7 p.m. Tuesday, are pending at the O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The body of Mr. Owen was found in the garage by, Larry Paddler, of 149 De Sota Ave. The county medical examiner, Dr. Paul O'Keefe, ruled the death a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Death occurred early Tuesday morning according to Dr O'Keefe. He said Owen apparently entered the closed garage and startedt he car, allowing exhaust fumes to fill the structure.

Mr. Owen, son of Hadwin and Golda Owen, was born in Waterloo August 26, 1941, attended schools here, and entered the Air Force in 1959. He later received a medical discharge. He married Marie Remetch August 28, 1968, here. They were later divorced.

For a period of several years, Mr. Own was employed by Larry Lange Ford in the fender and body repair department.

He is survived by his father, Hadwin Owen, of 201 Dawson St.; his mother, Mrs. Golda Kelly of El Paso, Ill.; and two brothers, Don Owen, 1918 Dundee St., and James A. Owen of 1311 Vine St.

Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home for Michael Ray Owen, 29, of 1826 Mitchell Ave., who diied of carbon monoxide poisoning Tuesday; in the garage at his home.

Burial will be in Midwest Garden of Memories Cemetery.
