Services for Gerald G. Ersland, 48, of 2733 Lafayette St., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Garden of Memories. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct flag-folding ceremonies at the cemetery. Mr. Ersland died about 10 a.m. Saturday at his home of a heart attack.

He was born May 11, 1929, at Red Lake Falls, Minn., the son of Gerald B. and Bonnie Thomas Ersland. He married Maxine Baish Aug. 24, 1949, in Seattle, Wash.

He was employed in the canning department at Rath Packing Company for 30 years. .

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gerald Lee Ersland of 15S6 Longfellow Ave. and Jeffrey Allen Ersland of 144 Miner Drive, Evansdale; a daughter, Mrs. Tammy Harris of 120 Leonard Ave., Evansdale; a grandchild; two brothers, Joseph Ersland of Lakewood, Calif., and Perry Ersland of Tucson, Ariz.; and two sisters, Mrs. Joan Nelson of Belmond and Mrs. Julie Becker of 1200 Mitchell Ave.

Friends may call until noon Wednesday at O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home and for one hour before services at the church.
