Bill L. Camlin, Sr. was born August 13, 1923, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Ray and Irene (Courter) Camlin. In June of 1942, he was united in marriage to Lois J. Groote in Waterloo. She died April 3, 1998.

He served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was an electrician with the I.B.E.W. Local #288 and owned and operated AAMCO Transmission in Davenport and Rock Island, IL, retiring in 1978. He was a journeyman electrician, master mechanic and was past President of I.B.E.W. Local 288. At the age of 75, he received his high school diploma.

Bill is survived by three sons, Bill Jr. (Mary Jean Schmit) of Waverly, Ron of Janesville and Don (Becky Robertson) of Rock Island, IL, eight grandchildren, Wade Camlin, David Camlin, Rick Camlin, Kristi Even, Pam McKenzie, Jill Camlin, Angie Camlin and Matt Camlin; and eleven great grandchildren.

Bill died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Western Home Communities-Martin Center in Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, David Camlin and brother, Charles Camlin.
