CEDAR FALLS - Lois N. Pittman, 90 of the Western Home Communities-Martin Center, died there Wednesday, September 5, 2007.

She was born August 16, 1917, in Imogene, Iowa, the daughter of Robert H. and Cora M. (Clites) Smalley. She graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1935. On June 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Russell Pittman in Rock Port, MO. He died November 1, 1943. She then married Fred Espinosa May 31, 1958 in Cedar Falls. They were later divorced. She was employed as a secretary at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1982. She was past president of the Business and Professional Women and past member of the Cedar Falls Women's Club and Questers.

Survived by daughter, Melinda S. (Larry) Larsen of DeSoto, WI; son, Jeffrey R. (Sue) Espinosa of Urbandale; four grandchildren, Kris (T.J.) Slifka of Lime Springs, Eric (Angie) Larsen of Marion, Jessica Espinosa of Des Moines, and Taylor Espinosa of Urbandale; and seven great grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Connor, Matthew, Hunter, Valerie, and Fisher.

Preceded in death by parents; husband; three sisters, Frieda Kendall, Florence Collins, and May Foley; and three brothers, Oscar Fay Smalley, William Merle Smalley, and Robert Wendall Smalley.

Services 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and also one hour prior to the services at the church.
