CEDAR FALLS - Two Cedar Falls residents died Sunday night when their vehicles collided at Highway 58 and Ridgeway Avenue in southern Cedar Falls.

Jason Joel Carmichael, 30, and Amanda Jo Schotter, 23, both of 1639 Lloyd Lane, were killed in the accident. They were riding in the same vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle, Jolan Caree Nielsen, of 208 Westgate Ave., was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. No information was available on her condition.

Police were called to the scene at 9:41 p.m. The vehicles collided in the intersection and came to rest in the southwest ditch, officials said.

The investigation into how the accident occurred was ongoing.

CEDAR FALLS — Amanda Jo Schotter, 23, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday March 6, 2005, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

She was born Oct. 16, 1981, in Waterloo, daughter of John M. and Sharon J. Niedert Schotter. She had attended the University of Iowa for two years and was in her last year of nurses training at Allen College.

Survivors include her parents of Waterloo; two brothers, Pfc. Casey J. Schotter based in Schweinfurt, Germany, and Bob L. Schotter of Waterloo; maternal grandmother, Doris Niedert of Waterloo; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Pat Schotter of Hudson.

Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Lloyd Niedert.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
