CEDAR FALLS — Howard Ray Settle, 84, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 22, 1928, in Colo, son of Francis and Gladys Bruner Settle. He married Donna Marie Widen on May 24, 1952, in Corwith.

Mr. Settle graduated with a degree in accounting from American Institute of Business, and worked as a sales associate with Dick Witham Chevrolet and Community Motors.

Survived by his wife; seven daughters: Pamela (Leon) Schrad of Melbourne, Debra (Marty) Kerkhoff of Manning, Diane (Rich) Calligan of Sycamore, Ill., Janet (Daniel) Ekstrom of Cedar Falls, Joleen (Jeff) Moe of Clarksville, Tenn., Carol (Greg) Matthias of Papillion, Neb., and Jennifer Settle of West Chester, Penn.; two sons, Michael of Cedar Falls and Thomas (Stephanie) of West Des Moines; a brother: Wm. Lloyd (Donna) of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service at Richardson Funeral Service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
