WATERLOO — Steve W. Fordyce Sr., 60, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, May 30, 2013.

He was born June 26, 1952, in Waterloo, son of James A. and Ivanelle Winkler Fordyce. He married Kathleen Miller on Sept. 20, 1973, in Waterloo; they were later divorced.

He attended Waterloo East High School. Mr. Fordyce worked for John Deere, IBP and Omega Cabinets until illness led to his retirement.

Survived by a daughter, Nicole Fordyce (Delane Braun) of Waterloo; two sons, Steve (Lindsey) Jr. of Waterloo and Matthew (Jana) of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Jonathan V. Reins, Andreya Marcelline, Vincent James Fordyce and Klaire Ann Fordyce; his former wife of Denver; and two brothers, Jeff of Waterloo and Bob of Janesville.

Preceded in death by his parents; and his grandmother, Mildred Winkler.

Services: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Steve treasured time spent with his family visiting, sharing or cooking for them. He loved to work with wood and restoring furniture. Steve enjoyed visiting his grandmother in Guttenburg, and he had a passion for detailing cars.
