WATERLOO — Jeannette F. “Jan” Becker, 74, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Iowa City, daughter of Erwin and Katherine Groenwald Ash. She married Wilfred Becker on Jan. 28, 1961, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Becker was employed with Country Kitchen and later with Steamboat Gardens for many years.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Laurie Becker of Waterloo and Cindy (Tom) Armstrong of Grimes; a son, Wesley (Jennifer) Becker of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; five brothers: Donovan (Phyllis) Ash, Edwin (Elizabeth) Ash and Kevin (Mona) Ash, all of Grundy Center, Paul (Roxanne) Ash of Waterloo and Kay (Pauline) Ash of Parkersburg; and three sisters, Barbara Becker of Grundy Center and Carol (Richard) Hogan and Edith Teeny, both of Illinois.

Preceded in death by twin sons, Marty and Glenn; and a brother, Ronald Ash.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
