CEDAR FALLS - Linda Kay Pratt, 43, of Cedar Falls, died after a long and brave fight with breast cancer, on Tuesday, April 26, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 11, 1961, in Waterloo, daughter of Donald and Rita Palmersheim Rosauer. She married James Pratt on Dec. 29, 1984, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.

Mrs. Pratt was a 1980 graduate of Gilbertville-Don Bosco High School and received her bachelors degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1984. She was an elementary school teacher in Belmond for five years and taught fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary School, Cedar Falls, for 14 years. She was a member of the Cedar Falls Education Association.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Maria and Emily Pratt, both at home; a son, Christopher at home; her parents of Gilbertville; five brothers: Dennis (Helene) Rosauer of Urbandale, Gary (Janice) Rosauer of Gilbertville, Steven Rosauer of Washburn, Robert (Coleene) Rosauer of Fort Myers, Fla., and Larry (Vanessa) Rosauer of Waterloo; five sisters: Julie (Joe) Frost of Gilbertville, Patti (Randy) Ragsdale of Reinbeck, Teresa (Brent) Buszka of Iowa City, Annette Weber of Urbandale and Angie (Stan) Hemesath of Waterloo; and her mother-in-law, Roberta Pratt of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her father-in-law, William Pratt.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial fund will be established.
