WATERLOO — Donnie L. Simmons, 58, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 26, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born June 12, 1946, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Beverly Flaherty McCarter. She married Larry H. Simmons on Sept. 19, 1964, in Minnesota. Mrs. Simmons was a 1964 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and had been employed at Mulberry-Smith-Lantz & Wier for 13 years, then was employed at Traer Manufacturing, Traer, for seven years until 2002.

Survivors include her mother of Cedar Falls; her beloved husband of Waterloo; a son, Matthew of Waterloo; two daughters, Shelly Anderson of Fort Dodge and Kris Eiklenborg of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Zachary, Ryon and Cooper; a brother, John (Mary) McCarter of Dike; two sisters, Cathy (Ron) Brown of Cedar Falls and Nancy (Dave Zien) Judas of Cedar Falls; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Joan (Larry) Wasserfort of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her father.

Memorial services: 10:30 am Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with private family inurnment at a later date. Her body was cremated Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home
