LA PORTE CITY, IOWA — Marjorie R. Bader, 86, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, April 26, at the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Monroe Township, Benton County, daughter of John and Helena Reimer Erickson. She married Glen Bader on December 30, 1939, in Kahoka, Missouri.

Mrs. Bader graduated from Traer High School. She helped her husband operate Members Mutual Oil Co. for many years until retiring. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City.

Survivors include her husband of La Porte City; a son, Jim (Mary) of La Porte City; a daughter, JoAnne Bader of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Sheryl (Doug) Dozier and Bradley (Heide) Bader; two step-grandchildren, Chris (Brian) Bunz and Mindy (Vince) Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Novak of South Amana.

Preceded in death by three brothers: Donald, Alfred and John Erickson; four sisters: Minnie Mochal, Louise Jepsen, Ellen Pecenka and Emma Craven; and two grandchildren, Suanne Bader and Matthew Diehm.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church and for an hour before services Friday. Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, is in charge of arrangements.
