Services for Burton "Burt" A. Beasley, of 246 Kenilworth Road, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at
O'Keefe & Towne-Carter & Waychoff Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery with flag folding ceremony by Becker-Chapman Post 138 of the American Legion and Burton Beasley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623. Mr. Beasley died Monday (Jan. 4, 1988) at Covenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Black Hawk County, son of George and Opal Dawson Beasley. He married Alacia Oulman on Ross May 21, 1970, in Waterloo. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed for 21 years as chief of security at Waterloo Industries, retiring in 1985. He was also a former manager at Iowa Glass and Paint Co.

Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Terry Ross of Holland and Todd Ross of Cedar Falls; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Tonya Whalen of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; two grandchildren; a brother, Oliver of Anaheim, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Mae McDermott of Evansdale and Rose Mary Johannason of Ponco City, Okla.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to services Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the Oncology Department or hospice at Covenant Medical Center.
