CEDAR FALLS — D. Karen Danielson, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Aug. 29, 1936, in North Platte, Neb., daughter of Joseph Clayton and Marie Bender Tillotson. She married Floyd C. Danielson on Jan. 24, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyo. He died Jan. 8.

She was a graduate of Cheyenne, Wyo., East High School and received her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Northern Iowa in 1988. Mrs. Danielson was a Camp Fire Girls leader and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Lyle (Linda) of Johnston; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Hanson of Menomonie, Wis., Shelley (partner Debbie Young) Danielson, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary (Kent Scheel) Sieker of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Scott) Hagberg, Erin (Justin Nelson) Danielson, Megan Danielson, Derek Danielson, Justin Sieker, Andrea Sieker and Jeremy Sieker; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Conlin and Jarrett McFarlane.

Preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Tillotson; and a sister, Ardetta Tillotson.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with inurnment July 24 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter. Visitation will be an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was a loving wife and mother.
