WATERLOO — Darlys D. Fisher, 52, of Oelwein, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein.

She was born July 28, 1960, in Waterloo, daughter of John A. and Carmen J. Schoenfield Plummer.

She worked at Whitaker Foods in the packaging and processing department for several years, retiring in 2009.

Survived by her father; three daughters: Jackie L. (Damon) Miller of Oelwein, Roxanne J. (Montreal) Porter of Waterloo and Crystal L. (Jeremy) Hebert of New Salisbury, Ind.; a son, Curtis J. (Mercedes) Porter of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Micki) Schirmer of Cedar Falls; a significant other, Dave A. Nichols Jr. of Oelwein; two sisters, Debbie (Steve) Bjorheim of Minnesota City, Minn., and Brenda (Jeff) Volker of Waterloo; a brother, Steve J. (Bette) Plummer of Nora Springs; and 17 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her mother; and her grandmother, Lucille Trueg.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

A benefit for Darlys was previously planned and will still take place at 4 p.m. June 1 at Lofty’s Lounge in Evansdale. In lieu of flowers, monetary memorials may be deposited to the “Darlys Fisher Benefit” account at Veridian Credit Union or mailed to 6720 Osage Road, Waterloo 50703. All memorials will be used to carry out Darlys’ after-life wishes.
