EVANSDALE — Doris M. Ostdahl, 85, of Evansdale, died at her home Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

She was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Lostwood, N.D., daughter of Bernard and Annabelle Jackson Meyer. She married Clarence Ostdahl on Feb. 2, 1951, in Palermo, N.D. He died April 6, 2011.

She worked in several fields during her life including Parkview Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center, Powers Manufacturing and Black’s Department Store. She retired at the age of 80 after working at Play and Learn Daycare Center in Evansdale caring for babies for several years.

Survived by four daughters: Rita Spears of Brandon, Rhonda (William) Pierson of Evansdale, Ramona (Duane) Tilkes of Washburn and Renee (Duane) Steimel of Waterloo; six sons, Robert (Elaine), Ricky, Ronald and Roderic, all of Evansdale, Rory of Waterloo and Rodney of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita (Bill) Quibell of Waterloo and Sandra (Jim) Scribner of Evansdale; two brothers, Roland Meyer of Whitefish, Mont., and Lavern “Skeeter” (Yvonna) Meyer of Libby, Mont.

Preceded in death by five sisters: Margaret Brockmier, Bernice Fenstermacker, LaVone Housel, Jean Swanson and Laureda Staack; and six brothers, Bernard, Robert, David, Theodore, Gerald and Lawrence Meyer.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. scripture service, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
