CEDAR FALLS- Paul Dean Mallinger, 63, of Cedar Falls died Friday, December 3, 2010, at his home.

He was born August 8, 1947 in Fort Dodge, the son of Anthony and Christina Nelson Mallinger. He married Deanna Loux on December 10, 1971 in Fort Dodge.

He graduated from Barnum High School in 1965 and served in the United States Air Force. He was employed with Cedar Falls Utilities as a water specialist, and was a water consultant for the city of Evansdale.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna; two sons, Robert (Kristin) of Ankeny, and Scott (Shana) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Andrea Mallinger of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Tanner and Kennedi Mallinger, and Anthony Lane, all of Cedar Falls; a brother, Leo (Joan) Mallinger of Clare, IA; two sisters, Margaret (Ken) Arndorfer of Austin, MN, and Janet Wagner of Fort Dodge; a sister-in-law, Deanna Mallinger of Fort Dodge; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Francois of Barnum, IA.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Mallinger; a sister, Alice Francois; a brother-in-law, Louis Wagner; and a niece, Deb Sperry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
