Funeral services for William H. Beardsley, 65, former Poyner Township farmer, who died at 12:30 a. m. Sunday in the veterans' hospital at Knoxville, la., of a stroke of apoplexy and complications, will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday in Peterson Brothers Funeral Home by Rev. Paul Brown, pastor of Methodist Episcopal church at Jesup, la.
Mr. Beardsley had been a patient at Knoxville veterans' hospital for the past seven years.
He was born Aug. 30, 1879, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of William and Margaret Beardsley. The family came to a farm near Waterloo in 1904. On Mar. 8, 1907, he married Mable Baston*. His wife preceded him in death in 1919. He was a veteran of World war I.
Surviving are four brothers: John and Albert Beardsley, Freeport, Ill, Clyde, Pearl City, Ill., and David, Route 5, Waterloo.
Burial will be in Poyner cemetery. The body was brought Monday from Knoxville to Waterloo.
