WATERLOO - Charles C. Youngblut, 70, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born April 9, 1935, in Black Hawk County, son of Arthur and Anna Welter Youngblut. He married Lois Stuedemann Oct. 17, 1970, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

He graduated from Jesup High School in 1953 and was employed as a machinist at John Deere for 35 years, retiring in 1990.

Survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Gassman of Dysart and Joanna (Gary) O'Clair of Waterloo; their mother, Lois Youngblut of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Lincoln Gassman, Isaac Gassman, Bethany O'Clair, Garrison O'Clair and Lillian O'Clair; two brothers, Melvin (Donna) Youngblut and James (Lenora) Youngblut, both of Jesup; two sisters, Madelyn Frost of Evansdale and Shirley (Art) Trebon of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Youngblut of Jesup.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jacob Charles, in 1996; two brothers, Tom and Cleo; a sister, Gladys Klunenberg; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Frost and Ed Klunenberg.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
