Services for Mrs. Ernestine Benson Tyson, 35, of Des Moines, formerly of Waterloo, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Des Moines. Mrs. Tyson died Sunday at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines after a six-month illness.

She was born in Meridian, Miss. She married Lamar Tyson of Waterloo on May 29, 1966.

She was employed as coordinator of student life at Urban Campus Des Moines Area Community College.

She is survived by her husband; three children: Daman, Lance and Erika; three sisters: Amy Cole and Mattie Lewis, both of Fort Dodge, and Jewel Turner of Des Moines; six brothers: W.A. and Dave Benson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., John Henry of Miami, Fla., T. M. Benson of Meridian, Miss., and Willie and Ernest
Benson, both of Cleveland.

Friends may call at Estes and Sons Funeral Home in Des Moines Wednesday and Thursday. There will be a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority ritualistic service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
