LIME SPRINGS — DaRhonda K. Schatz, 56, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Regional Health Services of Howard County, Cresco, of cancer.

She was born Jan 16, 1957, in Waterloo, to Irven and Norma Scheidel Reicks. She married Thomas Schatz on Feb. 5, 1977, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cresco.

She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1975. She worked as a lab tech in the Cresco Hospital and the New Hampton Clinic.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Andrew (Krystal) of Calmar and Aaron (Melissa) of Cresco; two grandchildren, Nolan and Alanna; her parents of Cresco; a sister, Brenda (Kevin) Valley of Rochester, Minn.; and a brother, Randy (Karry) Reicks of Necedah, Wis.

Preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy; maternal grandparents, Rudy and Angeline Scheidel; and paternal grandparents, Anton and Mary Reicks.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Notre Dame Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Heritage Events Center, Cresco, with a scripture service to follow. Visitation will continue an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, Cresco, is assisting the family.
