Elmer (Bob) Ford, 80, recently of the Colonial Manors in La Porte City and formerly of 416½ Allen St., died at 7:30 p. m. Monday at St. Francis Hospital of complications of age.

He was born in Hanlontown on Aug. 23, 1888, the son of John and Ingra Ore Ford. He married
Annastacia Purcell in November of 1915.

Mr. Ford operated the Popular Cigar Store here for several years and was a member of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary J. Ford of Los Angeles and four sisters: Bessie Ford, Mrs. Ida Lockrem, Mrs. Belle Ford and Mrs. Esther Field, all of Hanlontown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1962, a son and three brothers.

Services will be Thursday morning at the Oppold Funeral Home.
