WATERLOO — Nils E. “Rebel” Wright, 67, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Covington, Va., son of Richter and Mary Beckner Wright. He married Nichellee Jordan on April 4, 1998, in Waterloo.

Mr. Wright was employed at John Deere Tractor Works, which he retired after 30 years of service.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Nilandris of Waterloo and Benjamin of Des Moines; two daughters, Melissa (Timothy) Reynolds of Covington, Va., and Laura (Robert) Blackledge of McKinney, Texas; a stepdaughter, Daniqua Jordan-Wright of Waterloo; five grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Janet) of Evansdale and Ernie (Sharon) of Lowmoor, Va.; and a sister, Fran (Larry) Looney of Newport, Va.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Daniel “Boone.”

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Lone Star Cemetery, Covington, Va.
