WATERLOO — David Allan Voss, 56, of International Falls, Minn., formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, of lung cancer.

He was born July 6, 1946, in Cedar Falls, son of Floyd E. and Marvel I. Thompson Voss. He married Katherine Fluke July 14, 1984.

Mr. Voss was a 1964 graduate of State College High School, now the University of Northern Iowa Price Lab School, and attended Iowa State University and the University of Hawaii. Upon his return from Hawaii, he started a fish and pet store in Cedar Falls and Liter in Waterloo where he started successful businesses known as Professional Tropicals and Aquatic Leasing Co. He imported, bred and sold tropical fish for more than 20 years, semiretiring in 1999 and moving to International Falls, where he worked briefly for United Health Care and Rainy Lake One Stop.

Survived by his wife; a brother, Merlyn "Bill" of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Mary Mommer of Dike.

Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and two sisters, Betty Anderson and Joyce Kruse.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday .at Green Larson Mortuary, International Falls, and a memorial service is pending for next week in Waterloo. His body was cremated, ariel there will be no visitation.
